Launched in autumn 2020, the opus will thus be able to be performed live on stage from November 22nd, the date of the premiere, which will be offered at the Salle Pratt & Whitney of the Théâtre de la Ville in Longueuil.

The singer-songwriter directs his show, which is notably presented in Drummondville, Gatineau, Montreal, Quebec, Sherbrooke and Trois-Rivières.

“Whether you’re crazy about the holidays or cursing this time of year, Christmas is a must! With the show “Chansons hivernales” I want to have fun with the codes of Christmas, laugh at them or pay homage to them!” said Pierre Lapointe in a press release on Tuesday.

In this large-scale show, Pierre Lapointe will be surrounded by several musicians, under the musical direction of Emmanuel Ethier, who produced the album “Chansons hivernales”.

Pierre Lapointe promises a beautiful “Christmas delirium” and intends with his special guests to deliver “pieces that are both familiar and surprising, touching and disturbing”.

The decor is created by the scenographer Geneviève Lizotte (“La forêt des mal-aimés”, “Mutantes”, “Point”) in collaboration with the illustrator Pascal Blanchet (“The New Yorker”, “The San Francisco Magazine”) Martin Labrecque (Cirque du Soleil) for the lighting design.
