With the Pad 6S Pro, Xiaomi is moving into the upper class on the tablet side

Xiaomi pulled out all the stops at the opening of the Mobile World Congress yesterday.

Xiaomi introduced a variety of new products, including the highly anticipated Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Ultra. However, the manufacturer has a nice surprise in store for us with a new tablet that we didn't expect so quickly. But the brand, which is already well present in the entry-level range, is flexing its muscles and now wants to take on the iPad Pro and the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9.

A large 144Hz screen

We immediately understand: The Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro is a technologically even more advanced version of the very good Pad 6. And its strengths are clear on all levels, so it deserves the “Pro” rating.

First, there's that screen, which stretches to 12.4″ (compared to 11″ on the Xiaomi Pad 6). Note that it retains two features of the entry-level model: its 144Hz refresh rate and its IPS LCD character. However, Xiaomi promises significantly higher brightness here, reaching 900 nits thanks to HDR compatibility.

Xiaomi's high-end tablet is particularly thin (only 6.26 mm at 590 grams) and attracts film fans online because it promises calibration according to the CIE2015 color standard. There are also six speakers distributed on both sides of the tablet that support Dolby Atmos for spatial sound.

Improved performance

It is impossible to market a “Pro” tablet without providing the technical means. Xiaomi is offering its Pad 6S Pro the best chip on the market last year, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 – seen above all in the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5. An impressive SoC that is suitable for both the most demanding games and heavy applications.

Despite the thinness of the tablet, the Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro has a 10,000mAh battery that charges at 120W (Xiaomi promises a full charge in 35 minutes).

We will also note in Xiaomi's presentation the availability of a keyboard and a stylus that will further improve the productive dimension of its product.

The Xiaomi Pad 6S Pro will come onto the market on April 6th starting at 699 euros (8+256 GB). Add €100 for the keyboard case and another €99 for the pen.
