One group ordered a sumptuous meal at a restaurant in Singapore. When they received the bill, they called the police.
Seafood can be expensive, but restaurant customer Junko Shinba was positively outraged by the price of a meal with her friends. They dined at Seafood Paradise in Singapore, where they shared an Alaskan king crab among other dishes. When they asked for the bill at the end of the night, they were reportedly “speechless” at the price.

The crab alone cost the equivalent of a whopping 643 euros, while the total bill, which also included beer, water, rolls, fried rice with meat, wine and vegetables, was around 902 euros – including a ten percent service charge. Angry restaurant customers claim they were not told the price was based on the weight of the crab and that the whole crab had to be cooked specifically for their table.

The restaurant defends itself against the accusations
The restaurant responded on social media to “set the record straight” about the allegations. He shared video footage that purportedly shows staff explaining prices “in detail.” Junko claims that the waiter recommended the crab, but the employee did not clearly explain that it would cost almost 19 euros for 100 grams.
The restaurant’s parent company, Paradise Group, disputed the allegations, arguing that the group’s employees made the price clear. The video shows the employee showing off the crab and guests posing for photos with it before preparing it.
Police resolve dispute
Junko and her friends claim they were surprised when three plates of crab meat weighing about 3.5 kilograms were brought to the table. They told AsiaOne: “We were all speechless when we discovered that dinner for four adults costs so much. None of us were informed that the whole crab would be cooked just for us, as is the case in other restaurants where crabs are partially served. There were three dishes full of crab and many other dishes, we couldn’t finish them all.”
The guests called the police to the restaurant. She tried to mediate. Eventually, the restaurant manager agreed to offer a discount on the meal, although Paradise Group says this was a “goodwill” gesture because one of the customers said he could not afford the dish.
