Without a contract, Osmar Prado leaves soap opera cast due to lack of agreement with TV

After being announced in the cast of Guerreiros do Sol during Globo’s panel at Rio2C last month, Osmar Prado left production on Globoplay’s soap opera. The actor, whose permanent contract was not renewed after the Pantanal (2022), did not enter into an agreement with the broadcaster.

The veteran can only work at the enterprise with an employment contract. According to journalist Patrícia Kogut of the newspaper O Globo, Prado was supposed to play a colonel in the series inspired by the story of Lampião (18981938) and Maria Bonita (19111938).

Guerreiros do Sol will be Globoplay’s third original telenovela, following Verdades Secretas 2 (2021) and Toda as Flores (2022). Set to hit theaters in 2024, the new series promises to explore wartime love from a female perspective.

Recordings in the Northeast have already started this week. The action takes place in the 1920s and 1930s and was written by George Moura and Sergio Goldenberg. The artistic direction lies with Rogério Gomes, Papinha.

The story revolves around the cangaceiro Josué (Thomás Aquino), who leads a gang in search of revenge against the colonels and police in the region. He falls in love with Rosa (Isadora Cruz) and the couple cross the Sertão on an adventure full of passion, courage and freedom.

But at the beginning of the story, Rosa is married to the colonel played by José de Abreu. Meanwhile, Josué will also be getting involved with Ivonete (Larissa Bocchino).

Also scheduled for the soap opera: Irandhir Santos, Alexandre Nero, José de Abreu, Daniel de Oliveira, Alinne Morais, Daniel de Oliveira, Alice Carvalho, Nathalia Dill, Ítalo Martins, Vitor Sampaio and Rodrigo Lelis.
