Marcello Camargo, son of presenter Hebe, who died in 2012, denied that he received a millionaire inheritance and said in the same interview that the mansion is located in southern São Paulo and was left by his mother, who almost went up for auction in 2017 for a minimum bid of R$ 60 million is a “white elephant”, making it difficult to sell.

He explained why he feels this way about the speaking residency, which was held during a conversation on Joanna Maria’s YouTube channel, who today released the abridged excerpt of the chat held in late July.

“I always say, ‘Where’s all the inheritance?

“No [existe essa herança toda], it’s all a legend. My mother actually invested everything in her house. She loved buying and growing the houses next door. It just turned into a white elephant,” he said.

He also commented on the high cost of maintaining the mansion with everything making it difficult when trying to sell it: “So, for […] it’s very difficult to sell because it’s a very large asset. The cost of that is very high, so people think I’m rich in money, but I’m not.”

However, Marcello insisted on saying he left a legacy, albeit modest, not to mention values. “Of course she left some legacy, I won’t say I have nothing left either, but it’s not these absurdities, this crowd that keeps coming up in the media.”

Surprised, Joanna Maria asked, “Oh, those 160 million I read on Google are lies then?” she wanted to know. “Imagine if it were me, I would be in Iceland right now and going for a walk with you,” Marcello replied, referring to the country where the Capixaba currently resides.

The matter had already been raised in another interview, this time with “FamaCast”, first with Marcello commenting on the 60 million without naming the currency, then the moderators mentioned a possible inheritance of 180 million US dollars. “Imagine,” he said, laughing.

In a conversation on journalist Felipeh Campos’ YouTube channel in December 2020, Claudio Pessutti, nephew and manager of the presenter who died in January 2021, said that the presenter had lived in the villa since 2000.
