Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is under fire after offering a plea deal to a man accused of anti-Semitic assault who said he would do it again.

Waseem Awawdeh, 24, was offered an undisclosed six-month plea deal more than a year after his arrest on charges of assaulting Joseph Borgen, 30, while shouting anti-Semitic slurs.

Awawdeh and a pro-Palestinian group targeted Borgenm, who was wearing a gray kippah and walking in Times Square on May 20, 2021.

The suspect faced a seven-year prison sentence and was charged with assault as a hate crime, gang assault, menace, aggravated harassment as a hate crime, and criminal weapons possession.

“If I could do it again, I would do it again,” Awawdeh is said to have said at the time. “I have no problem doing it again.”

The brutal attack was filmed as Awawdeh beat Borgenm with crutches before calling him a “filthy Jew” and pepper spraying him.

State Assembly Member Dov Hikind invoked the Bragg decision while calling Awawdeh a “Jew murderer.”

‘[Bragg] Waseem Awadeh was offered a sweet plea deal with a 6-month sentence, even though the violent Jew-hater said he would try to kill Jews again and showed no remorse,” Hikind wrote on Twitter.

‘Awadeh and a mob attacked Joseph Borgen who was badly injured and fearing for his life! Shameful!’

Former New York judge Jeanine Pirro accused Bragg of forming an “alliance” with criminals.

“By offering a plea for a vicious attack, which is also a hate crime, Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg is proving his loyalty, not only to criminals but also to those who have fallen victim because of their religion and race.” ‘ Pirro wrote.

New York City Councilman Kalman Yeger added that it was “open season for Jews.”

Bragg was elected in November 2021 and led with a pro-crime approach of using prison as a last resort.

The woke prosecutor championed the promise of criminal justice reform, and after taking office issued a controversial “Day One” memo saying he would seek jail time only for the most serious cases.

The same month that Bragg took office, career criminal William Rolon, charged with only one misdemeanor for threatening a store clerk with a knife, was told by a judge to “feel happy” about Bragg’s new policy .

In November 2021, Bragg filed a motion to dismiss the murder charges against a Manhattan nurse who fatally stabbed her husband.

Bragg’s sweeping changes asked prosecutors to drop the armed robbery charges and instead charge suspects with petty larceny — a misdemeanor punishable by a maximum of one year in prison — even if a weapon is involved, if the firearm wasn’t a real physical risk represents damage.
