Wolf Maya sparked controversy when he gave an interview to the podcast “Papagaio Falante” presented by actors Renato Rabelo and Sérgio Mallandro on YouTube. In the chat, the TV director, who left Globo in 2016, recalled some moments spent in his career at the global broadcaster, such as revealing that the soap opera writer Silvio de Abreu hated Tata Werneck.

“There were many people who thought differently about Tatá. I was sweating man to put it on! I don’t know who was in charge then, I think it was Silvio de Abreu… He hated her! I didn’t want Tatá at all!” Wolf began.

“Silvio found them boring. Said she was a one character actress. I spoke [para ele]: ‘just!’ Maybe she’s even ‘a character’ but she tailors her character to her needs, where she’s playing from and it’s brilliant,” concluded the director.

As of the publication of this note, Tatá Werneck and Silvio de Abreu have not commented on this matter.
