Woman discovers cancer and is cured same day: ‘I didn’t believe it’

A 61yearold woman was diagnosed with lung cancer and cured of the disease on the same day. The case took place in Texas, USA in January, but has only now been made public by the international press.

April Boudreau told the Chron she only found out she had the tumor after doctors had already removed it. “You’re pinching yourself because you can’t believe it’s true,” she said. “It was all so simple, no radiation or chemotherapy.”

The tumor was discovered during routine examinations. April was called to Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital for a followup test, and during the lung biopsy, doctors confirmed that the lump was indeed earlystage lung cancer.

After the cancer was discovered, doctors decided to operate on her while she was still under local anesthesia. The operation, in turn, was performed using a minimally invasive technique that uses an ultrathin catheter guided by a robot to reach lesions in areas of difficult access to the lungs.

She also noted that she wasn’t expecting the diagnosis and that the only symptom she had was being a little short of breath. However, she attributed the situation to aging. After the operation, she returned home the next day.

“I took painkillers for three days and that was all I needed. Three days later I was normal and walking around. I couldn’t believe it,” she said.

April had previously undergone cancer treatments three times. She survived Hodgkin lymphoma twice in 1984 and 1985 and breast cancer in 2002.
