A 40-year-old woman suffered serious injuries after being dragged by a vehicle on a ramp connecting Highway 13 North to Highway 640 East in Boisbriand on Rive-North on Thursday night.

According to the Sûreté du Québec, an emergency call was made around 12:30 p.m. to report the presence of an injured woman on the side of the road after she was dragged by a vehicle to which she was hanging on.

The woman had to be treated for significant injuries, but there was no fear for her life, the SQ specified.

The driver of the vehicle, who had left the scene when police arrived, was later found at a residence in Saint-Eustache, where he was arrested by SQ police officers with the assistance of their colleagues from the city of Saint-Eustache.

The person was interviewed by investigators to clarify the matter.

The slip road that connects the A-13 north with the 640 east was still closed for police investigations at the time of writing.
