Woman guilty of poisoning double with cheesecake

Viktoria Nasyrova, a woman of Russian descent, is found guilty of poisoning her beautician in order to kill her to steal her identity.

The incident happened in New York in 2016, when Ms. Nasyrova gave her beautician Olga Tsvyk a piece of cake, according to the BBC.

At that time, in addition to dark hair and speaking Russian, the two women had similar facial features. Tsvyk lost consciousness after eating the cake given by his client.

The defendant had put her victim in her bed, put her lingerie on, and spilled pills around the room to make it look like a suicide.

Olga Tsvyk’s friends eventually found him at his apartment before taking him to the hospital. Her passport, work permit, $4,000 in cash and jewelry were missing.

On February 9, Viktoria Nasyrova was found guilty of attempted murder, assault and unlawful detention. She faces a 25-year prison sentence.
