Woman is arrested for racism during the Bob Marley movie in Santa Catarina Country

A woman was arrested redhanded for racismduring a screening of the film Bob Marley, “One Love”, after another cinema customer reported it. The case occurred on Wednesday (28) in a shopping center in the town of Balneário Camboriú, in Santa Catarina. The information comes from the newspaper O Globo.

“Yesterday I went to the cinema with my girlfriend. We walked in, sat down and out of nowhere a couple sitting on our left side looked at me with different eyes. She looked at me differently. After a while she said, “Look! Wow, how fun, right? “There used to be no black people in the cinema, now there are so many black people,” the boy said in a video.

The victim says that despite being questioned by him and her boyfriend, the woman continued to shout insults. “She said, 'There used to be no black people in the movies, now there are'.” And I said, “So you're telling me that black people can't be in the movies?” And that?'. At the end she said, 'Take it however you want,'” he said.

Following instructions from the civilian police, he filed a report and called the military police. The woman was arrested and taken to the police station.

In a statement, the Prime Minister reported that the woman admitted making the comments in the cinema. She explained that she had no intention of offending him and apologized. “In view of the situation, the garrison arrested the perpetrator and the parties were taken to the civil police station for the relevant procedures,” the police statement confirmed.
