Often you have to fall deeply to start life over. Shortly after losing her job, a woman won the lottery with 109 million euros.
“It’s unimaginable. I spent many minutes comparing the numbers on my ticket with those I saw on the screen,” the newly crowned French multimillionaire can hardly believe her luck. What numbers? Exactly 109,268,140 million euros.
But what seems like a dream is now reality for the woman, who wants to remain anonymous: she actually hit the “EuroMillions” jackpot from the French lottery Française des Jeux (FDJ). “It seems like I had a better chance of being struck by lightning than winning the lottery,” said the winner.
Big worries after losing your job
The lottery scam was literally a blessing in disguise for the 50-year-old. She recently lost her job because she was fired, she told the lottery company. “I was really worried, but the pressure of work was gone,” she said with relief.

The woman wasn’t even a regular player; she only occasionally filled out a lottery ticket. The one on September 1, 2023 will now change her life.

What does the Frenchwoman plan to do now with her windfall? There are plans to buy a house and travel the world. “I’ve never owned a house. For me it’s a dream.” The lottery millionaire’s first destinations are Mexico and Thailand.
But she doesn’t want to waste her earnings: the woman plans to volunteer in clubs and let her descendants share the fortune: “I want to leave a mark, a legacy that will benefit future generations.”
