Woman missing for week found dead in her exhusband’s warehouse

A woman from Florida, USA, who went missing a week ago, was discovered with gunshot wounds in a warehouse belonging to her exhusband, who is now considered the main suspect in her murder.

The decomposed body of 37yearold Shakeira Rucker was recovered Saturday from the selfstorage facility on Wiggins Road in Apopka, Orange County authorities said in a statement cited by NBC News. The woman’s death is being investigated as a murder.

The discovery came after an intensive fourcounty search involving multiple agencies with assistance from the FBI.

“It’s not the outcome we were hoping for, but closure is coming for Shakeira’s family,” Winter Springs Police Chief Matthew Tracht said Sunday.

The search in Mount Dora had just ended Saturday afternoon when an alert was received from a person reporting “an odor coming from one of the units” at Self Storage in Apopoka.

According to authorities, Rucker appears to have been shot multiple times in the warehouse, but only the autopsy report can determine the exact cause of death.

Cory Hill, 51, Rucker’s exhusband, is the only suspect. The man did not cooperate with the investigation and the unit where Rucker was found dead was registered in his name.
