Woman posed as Waffle House employee, worked for hours before stealing cash: Police

Police in Georgia are searching for a woman who was allegedly a Waffle House employee before fleeing the restaurant with cash.

The incident occurred around 7 p.m. on Dec. 12 in Clayton County, Riverdale police said in a social media post.

The woman allegedly worked at the 24-hour restaurant for two hours before she was seen on surveillance video “accessing the cash register tray, opening the register and stealing cash.”

The amount of money stolen was not disclosed.

A surveillance photo of the woman released by police shows her wearing the chain's hat over a hood.

Anyone with information about the woman's identity or whereabouts is asked to call Riverdale Crime Stoppers at 770-996-3382.

It's unclear how the suspect could have worked for so long without actual employee intervention. Waffle House did not immediately respond to a request for comment, and a manager on duty at the affected restaurant told Fox Business on Wednesday morning that she was not there when the alleged incident occurred and no information was available.
