A woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of Chemin de Sainte-Catherine and Montée d’Ascot in Sherbrooke on Saturday morning.

Police were called to the scene around 10 a.m. When they arrived, they found two vehicles damaged, indicating a serious collision. A total of three women were hospitalized after the accident. There is no fear for the life of the seriously injured person.

The driver failed to stop at the red light at the Montée d’Ascot intersection. He crashed into the vehicle, which was traveling on the climb from Ascot towards Highway 410, said Sherbrooke Police Service (SPS) public relations officer Benoît Pellerin.

It was a collision that occurred at a good speed as there was no sign of braking and everyone thought they had a green light at the intersection.
