In a stunning display of resilience and will to live, a woman survived a car accident that could easily have been fatal. In the incident at Mount Baldy near Los Angeles, California, the driver was trapped in the wreckage of her vehicle for four days after the car plunged from a 250foot (76 meter) ravine.
An unexpected detour leads to a dramatic crash
The accident was caused by an unforeseen event on the road. While attempting to avoid a deer that unexpectedly crossed her path, the driver lost control of her vehicle, which ultimately plunged into the ravine. In a violent crash, the car ended up crashing into the steep terrain and was destroyed.
Four days waiting for help
The situation worsened when the woman realized she was trapped in the damaged car and had no way to call for help as she was in an area with no cell service. Despite her desperation, she had the presence of mind to continue fighting for her life.
Luckily, the woman had some supplies in her car that allowed her to survive the four days she was trapped. It was eventually found by a fisherman who was in the area and saw the wrecked car. He quickly called the San Dimas Mountain Rescue Team.
