A woman who turned her home into a “giant dollhouse” says she is struggling to find a new owner.
In 1987, Mary Rose Young purchased her home in Lydney, United Kingdom for approximately 44,000 Canadian dollars.
Ms. Young then renovated her house and transformed it in an extreme way!
Ms Young and her husband Phil Butcher have been trying to sell the property since 2014 but are finding it very difficult to find buyers…
Real estate agents estimate the home's value at at least $365,000 Canadian, but all potential buyers say they're put off by the special features.
While many people have advised Ms Young to remodel the house in a more sober manner, the owner says she is struggling to erase “a life's work”.
While Ms Young confided that she is still in love with her home, she explained: “I designed this house around my lifestyle and never saw it as something that could be sold.” We live here like two children in a dollhouse and, in hindsight, why would anyone want to buy it? It’s a playhouse for children.”
The artist concluded by recalling one of the rare visits from potential buyers: “One came to visit and look at it, but he didn’t stay long.”
