A Thai man is suing his exwife after she lost £300,000 (approx. He wants part of the money. According to British newspaper Daily Star, the separation communication took place over the phone.
The case happened in the city of Isan. Narin, 47, was married to Chaweewan, 43, for 20 years. The man stated that the div[ortio”Iwasshockedanddidn’tknowwhattodoI’mdisappointedIdidn’texpectmy20yearoldwifetodothistome”[órcio“FiqueichocadoenãosabiaoquefazerEstoudesapontadoNãoesperavaqueminhaesposade20anosfizesseissocomigo”desabafou[ortio„IchwarschockiertundwusstenichtwasichtunsollteIchbinenttäuschtIchhabenichterwartetdassmeine20jährigeFraumirdasantunwürde”[órcio“FiqueichocadoenãosabiaoquefazerEstoudesapontadoNãoesperavaqueminhaesposade20anosfizesseissocomigo”desabafou
The exwife, on the other hand, disputes the version presented by her ex and, while admitting that the couple broke up over a phone call, argues that they broke up a few years ago.
Narin, who was working in South Korea to pay a family debt at the time of the Feb. 25 split, claims Chaweewa failed to provide an explanation and even tried to hide the lottery win before her daughters broke the news. He returned home on March 3 and planned to confront his ex, only to find that not only had she moved on, but she had also married someone else.
“I only had 60,000 baht ($2) left in my bank account because I gave her money every month. I want to demand justice and the money I deserve,” the man says.
The former couple have never been officially married and therefore have no marriage certificate to prove the marriage, but his lawyer believes he is still entitled to half of his wife’s earnings and says family members can confirm their relationship longterm.
Meanwhile, Chaweewan claims his neighbors back up his claim that the couple broke up a few years ago. She also denied depriving him of the award.
