In the US, a woman with two uteruses (technically speaking, none) gave birth to twins. “Our miracle babies are born!” Kelsey Hatcher, 32, who documented her extraordinary pregnancy on Instagram, announced on Friday.
Not only did the two girls grow in different wombs, so they're not technically twins, but they were also born on different days: Roxi Layla was born on Tuesday night at 7:49 pm (local time), Rebel Laken at 6:09 am on Wednesday morning -fair.
Her daughters apparently believe they are so “statistically unique” that they “should have their own birthdays,” Hatcher wrote.

Healthy Babies at Home for Christmas
According to Hatcher's gynecologist's calculations, the babies were due at Christmas. Now they're born early enough to spend the holidays at home with their siblings: Hatcher and the two girls are doing so well that they've already been released from University Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. Hatcher plans to reveal details about the birth at a later date.

Rare congenital malformation
Hatcher knew from the age of 17 that she had two uteruses. It is estimated that 0.3% of all women are affected by the rare congenital malformation Uterus Didelphys. In May, Hatcher, who at the time was already a mother of three, discovered during an ultrasound in the eighth week of her pregnancy that this time she was pregnant with two babies – and each baby was growing in her own uterus.
Probability: 1 in 50 million
According to Hatcher gynecologist Shweta Patel, simultaneous pregnancies in both uteruses are even rarer than two uteruses. The probability is therefore 1 in 50 million. The last known case occurred in Bangladesh in 2019, where Arifa Sultana, then 20, gave birth to her children 26 days apart.
