On the eve of the International Day Against Violence Against Women, “Women for Women Against Violence – Camomilla Award” will be broadcast on Friday November 24th at 11:10 p.m. on Rai 3, hosted by Arianna Ciampoli and Beppe Convertini. Now in its fourth televised edition, Women for Women is a unique event that brings together two major issues facing women: gender-based violence and breast cancer: through authentic testimonies, we speak about life and give voice to the strength of women.
The aim of the program is to remember that in Italy over 100 women are killed every year by men who almost always claim to love them, and also to remember that breast cancer is the main cause of cancer mortality in our country.
On stage the stories of Miss Italy’s “mother”, Patrizia Mirigliani, of Nicolò Maja, a young orphan of femicide, of Antonietta Tuccillo, a fighter who turned illness into creativity by becoming a stylist. We then talk about a study on “economic toxicity of the tumor” carried out by Lucio Fortunato, head of breast medicine at San Giovanni in Rome. And again, Carolina Marconi, who had already given life to the theme of oncological oblivion, and Filomena Lamberti, marked by her husband’s acid, were reborn, also thanks to the important contribution of the newspaper “La 27 Ora” of the Corriere della Sera, which, represented by the head of the Roman editorial team, Giuseppe Di Piazza, receives the Camomilla Award, a sculpture by the master goldsmith Michele Affidato.
Among those honored were also the television presenter of “Tv Talk”, Massimo Bernardini, the sports journalist Greta Beccaglia, the presenter Samantha De Grenet, testimonial of the Veronesi Foundation, Daniele Angelo Giarratano and Gianfranco Natelli of the Carabinieri, who saved the life of their woman kidnapped by her partner, the director of Il Messaggero, Massimo Martinelli, for the column “Mind the Gap” by the singer Silvia Mezzanotte and the Mediaset program “Le Iene”, represented by Nina Palmieri and Filippo Roma. Special guests include presenter Francesca Ceci, flautist Giuseppe Mario Finocchiaro and electric violinist Andrea Casta, who will perform “The Lord’s Prayer” with singer Serena Menarini.
