Women’s hockey: The power puts an end to their misfortune

La Force de Montréal ended a four-game losing streak Sunday afternoon at the Sport Rousseau Center of Excellence with a 6-2 win over the Buffalo Beauts.

Belle Province Club was pushed forward by Jade Downie-Landry and Sarah Lefort. The two athletes each scored two goals. They have scored nine and five goals respectively in 2022-23 so far. Alyssa Holmes and Kristina Shanahan also moved the ropes for power in this win.

Ann-Sophie Bettez wasn’t left out, she who became an accomplice in both Downie-Landry’s successes. The Quebec side’s captain has now recorded 11 goals and nine assists for 20 points in 21 games.

In front of the winning cage, Tricia Deguire stopped 26 of the Beauts’ 28 shots. She was thwarted by pitches from Mikyla Grant-Mentis and Whitney Dove.

It was the last home game for the Force this year, who will end their regular season with two matchups against the Metropolitan Riveters. These two duels will be presented in New Jersey.
