“She embodies the character every day,” lawyer and singer Jessica told Access.
“I think every person believes and sees the character as a strong female figure in their life.”
“Their mothers, their girlfriends, their grandmothers, their aunts, their sisters,” she continued of the comic book character.
Jessica lavished praise on her mother, continuing, “I’m really lucky that my mother is even more wonderful than the character.”
“She taught me to be strong, she taught me to be brave and she taught me that I can do whatever I want to do and that I don’t have to conform to someone else’s ideal,” continued she continued . “I just had to be myself.”
Lynda, who also has son James with the late ZeniMax Media CEO Robert Altman, explained why Wonder Woman’s legacy was so powerful, calling the DC legend “iconic for her heart, her intellect, her strength and beauty.”
Jessica not only appreciated her mother’s kindness, but also developed her own love of entertainment; She has already released her EP with songs called No Rules.
And it was mom who actually got her daughter interested in music.
“It started as a family affair,” Jessica told Mario and Kit. “My brother had performed with my mother at the Kennedy Center, and when I was in law school, my mother asked me if I would consider performing with her. I didn’t realize how nerve-wracking that would be until I actually got on stage.”
That first gig led to many more gigs for which Carter Altman is a blessing.
“It was a great experience not only to be able to work so professionally for the first time, not only to see the finished project, but also to observe her work,” explained Jessica. “To be on stage and to share these very special moments together.”
Lynda looked back on her own time as a singer, calling her duets with music greats like Kenny Rogers and Ray Charles “a dream come true,” adding that making music with her kids “takes it even further.”
