The king of Syria was at war with Israel. He consulted his officers and chose a place to set up camp. But the prophet Elisha sent a message to the king of Israel, warning him not to approach that place because the Syrians were hiding there and waiting to attack him. Then the king of Israel warned the men who lived in that place, and they were on the alert. This happened several times. The king of Syria was very upset; Then he called his officials and asked them, “Which of you is on the side of the king of Israel?” One of them replied, “None of us, O king.” The prophet Elisha is the one who tells everything to the king of Israel , what the Lord says, even in his own room. Then the king ordered, “Find out where he is, and I will arrest him.” They told him that Elisha was in Dothan, and he sent there a large troop of soldiers with horses and chariots. They arrived in the city at night and surrounded it. Early the next day, Elisha’s servant got up and left the house. There he saw the Syrian troops with their horses and chariots surrounding the city. Then he went into the house and said to Elisha, “Lord, we are lost!” What do we do? Elisha said, “Do not be afraid, for those with us are more numerous than those with them.” Then he prayed as follows: “O Lord God, open the eyes of my servant and let him see!” God answered his prayer. Then Elisha’s servant looked up and saw that the hill around Elisha was covered with horses and chariots of fire. 2 Kings 6:817

There are days when we look around and we are like Elisha’s servant, scared to death and asking God… “What will become of us?” What will we do?”

You may feel this way today, but God says, “Do not be afraid, for those who are on your side are more numerous than those who are against you.”

If you feel fear and uncertainty. When all you can see is a huge force of enemies and trouble; Pray to the Lord and ask Him to allow you to see with spiritual eyes. God commanded a multitude of angels in chariots of fire to protect you.

Say this prayer: “Lord, I know that my eyes are very limited, and therefore my soul stirs within me.” I ask you, Father, allow me to see with spiritual eyes, open my eyes so that I may see you because I trust in you and know that the LORD loves me and will always protect me. In the name of Jesus I pray, Amen!

Have a blessed day!
