Where did Wordle come from?
Originally created by engineer Josh Wardle as a gift for his partner, Wordle quickly spread into an international phenomenon, played daily by thousands of people around the world. Alternative versions of Wordle created by fans also emerged, including battle royale Squabble, the music identification game Heardle, and variations such as Dordle and Quordle, which require you to guess multiple words at once.
Wordle eventually became so popular that it was purchased by The New York Times and TikTok creators even live stream their own game.

Why are there two different Wordle answers some days?
Although Wordle typically only accepts one correct solution per day, it has occasionally rebelled against the norm and deemed two different answers acceptable. This is due to changes The New York Times made to Wordle after acquiring the puzzle game.
