Senator Ron Johnson, of Wisconsin, joined Faulkner’s Focus on Monday, emphasizing the need for the US to prevent China from supporting Russia’s military action against Ukraine. Johnson stressed that China is “playing a very dangerous game” by supporting Russia in any capacity against the backdrop of their invasion of Ukraine.

SEN. RON JOHNSON: China is image-conscious, and they need to understand that their image is further tarnished by literally their lack of response. They must strongly oppose what Russia is doing. But it’s not. Can we break away from China overnight? No, but you are starting the process. IN many respects. You know, we started this process because wages increased in China. Manufacturers have left China as China has become more authoritarian. As people realize the greater risk of doing business with China, manufacturers are leaving China. It would just keep going. I think it will probably pick up speed. China is playing a very dangerous game of remaining virtually silent when it comes to the atrocities and war crimes committed, I believe, by their friend, Russia.
