The year 2024 started with good news for Brazilians who love to travel. The Brazilian passport reached 17th place in the prestigious Henley Passport Index ranking, which classifies the most effective passports for international travel. This means that Brazilian travelers now have visafree access to a total of 173 countries and territories worldwide.

In this sense, the undisputed leaders of the ranking are still France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Singapore and Spain, whose passports allow free entry to 194 countries. South Korea, Finland and Sweden follow closely behind with passports that allow visafree entry to 193 countries.
Brazil rises in the rankings
In South America, Chile and Argentina overtake Brazil and take 15th and 16th place, respectively. However, Brazil has made significant progress and is now ahead of many other countries.
Surprise of the Arab Emirates
One of the highlights is the rise of the United Arab Emirates, which jumped from 55th place in 2014 to 11th place in 2024. The UAE passport now allows entry into an impressive 183 countries.
8 countries that do not require a visa
Of the ten most visited countries in the world, Brazilians with a passport can enter eight of them without a visa. Destinations such as France, Spain, Turkey, Italy, the United Kingdom, Germany, Greece and Austria are now easier to reach for Brazilian travelers.
