World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestler Windham Rotunda, better known as Bray Wyatt, died Thursday at the age of 36.
The company’s creative director, Triple H, confirmed the news on social media, saying he received a call from Rotunda’s father, Mike, another former wrestler. No information was given on the causes of death, which surprised fans.

Rotunda made his WWE debut as Husky Harris in 2009, but his greatest success came in 2013 as Wyatt. Notably, he won the WWE Championship in the role of a cult leader known as the “Wyatt Family.”
Distinguished by his in-ring qualities and creativity, he was a two-time Universal Champion under the guise of “The Fiend,” effectively blending horror and a children’s program on screen.
Rotunda made his last television appearance last February, just before the WrestleMania 39 Gala.
He is survived by a 4-year-old son and 3-year-old daughter from his marriage to former WWE employee ring announcer JoJo.
Another ex-Wyatt Family member, Jonathan Huber (Luke Harper), also died relatively young, in December 2020, at the age of 41.
