WWE SmackDown New Orleans, LA, October 14, 2022
The commentators are Michael Cole and Wade Barrett.
– WWE SmackDown begins with a car crash in the parking lot. In it we see Karrion Kross injured with Scarlett by his side. Drew McIntyre comes from behind and goes after Kross, but the officers separate them.
– The SmackDown intro plays, then the Pyros explode. Commentators welcome us.
– We rewatch the end of the game between Karrion Kross and Drew McIntyre at Extreme Rules. Later that evening, a Fatal 4-Way takes place to determine the next contender for the Intercontinental title with Ricochet, Sheamus, Karrion Kross and Solo Sikoa. Also, Bray Wyatt will be returning to SmackDown!
– The new day arrives. Kofi Kingston recalls they are the longest reigning tag team champions at 483 days. Xavier Woods says this record is important to her because it is her legacy and her legacy will stay strong forever.
– In the gorilla position, Solo Sikoa is with Sami Zayn, they are joined by Jey Uso. Zayn tells Solo Sikoa to stay backstage to prepare for his match. Zayn tells Jey Uso to come with him and he doesn’t want to see the same thing he saw on RAW. Jey Uso replies that he didn’t do anything because Zayn said he would take care of it.
Sami Zayn gets a phone call from Roman Reigns who wants to speak to Jey Uso. Sami Zayn hands the phone to Jey Uso. The latter tells Reigns that Sami Zayn told him he would take care of it, even though Reigns had told him to make Zayn win. Jey Uso argues, but in the end he shuts up and hands the phone back to Sami Zayn.
Kofi Kingston (accompanied by Xavier Woods) vs. Sami Zayn (accompanied by Jey Uso)
At the end of the game, Sami Zayn avoids a Trouble in Paradise from Kofi Kingston and then tries to hold it, but Kingston counters it with a roll up. Jey Uso shoves the wrestlers in a way that Sami Zayn’s fall occurs to Kofi Kingston, who wins.
Winner: Sami Zayn
– Backstage, Triple H is standing in front of his office door. Rey Mysterio stops him, he tells him about his story with Dominik and tells him that he doesn’t want to confront his son. He still sees the little boy jumping onto his lap. He can’t go on anymore. He’s sorry… he loves WWE, it’s his home. He resigns! Triple H invites him to his office to talk about it, there must be another solution.
– Backstage, Shotzi welcomes Roxanne Perez to SmackDown. They are joined by Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez announces that she has chosen Rodriguez to face Cora Jade at NXT. Damage Control shows up and Bayley says Roxanne chose Raquel Rodriguez when she could have chosen her! Roxanne Perez says she could have picked her… but she’s on a losing streak. Bayley hopes Roxanne brought her outfit tonight.
2v1 handicap match
Braun Strowman vs. James Maverick and Brian Thomas (local wrestlers)
At the end of the game, Omos and MVP appear in the crowd. Braun Strowman powerbombs one of the two wrestlers at his teammate to win by pinfall.
Winner: Brown Strowman
After the match, Braun Strowman invites Omos into the ring. Omos wanted to come but MVP stops him and says Braun Strowman calls himself the monster of monsters…but he saw Omos? Next to him, Strowman looks normal.
– A video of the game between the Brawling Brutes and the Empire at Extreme Rules will be shown.
– Behind the scenes are Sami Zayn, Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa together. Jey Uso demands that Zayn thank him but Sami Zayn replies that he won alone. Solo Sikoa says he didn’t see anything because he was looking at Sami Zayn. The latter says that Solo Sikoa will become the next Intercontinental champion.
månsôör (accompanied by ma.cé and Maxxine Dupri) vs. LA Knight
At the end of the game, LA Knight made his BFT on månsôör for the pinfall win.
Winner: LA Knight
– We see Bray Wyatt returning to Extreme Rules.
