During today’s opening main lineup of a Women’s WarGames match, a little history lesson from comments and feedback?
With Michael Cole in comments, who has been something of a professional wrestling historian since Vince McMahon retired, you can add a few more previously unanticipated references to the list!
In the opening moments of the match, Michael Cole referred to fired star Tegan Nox during a reference to Dakota Kai’s storyline in the WarGames match.
Of course, this might just have been a relevant callback to the game’s story, but Nox is certainly one of the top names on people’s list for a possible return, and it was a very clear mention of Cole.
Comments also reference the specific history of the WarGames match concept itself.
With Cole describing the story of the game, which dates back to 1987, and how Dusty Rhodes conceived it for Jim Crockett promotions.
Elsewhere at Survivor Series, an NXT name has surfaced to kick off the night, which you can read more about here.
Before the show, Triple H honored the signature match with a compilation by an AEW star.
