After Seth Rollins suffered a knee injury and nearly lost his World Heavyweight Championship and his match at WrestleMania 40, CM Punk faces the same scenario.
In fact, a few hours before the WWE RAW show on January 29, 2024, we learned that CM Punk suffered a triceps injury after a DDT from Drew McIntyre during the Royal Rumble match, according to information from PWInsider. A very real injury as the initial information stated that Punk will have to go under the knife this week and that he will not be competing for the next few months and will therefore miss WrestleMania 40.
The January 29th RAW opened with CM Punk arriving in the ring to take stock of his future. Punk took the floor and confirmed that he had suffered a triceps injury. He said he tore his triceps in the Royal Rumble match. He wanted to live with the injury and go to the Elimination Chamber to compete in WrestleMania, but that's not possible. He confirmed that he will have to miss WrestleMania 40 due to this injury.
Punk was then confronted by Drew McIntyre, who played the role and then revealed that he had been praying that an injured CM Punk could cause him to miss WrestleMania 40.
