WWE Raw Report 1/8 Drew McIntyre and CM Punk face to face; Cody Rhodes vs. Nakamura in Street Fight PRWrestling

Below is what happened on Monday evening.

Drew McIntyre opens the show As he remembers what happened last week, he jokes about leaving WWE. He questions why Damian Priest tried to cash in his WWE Money in the Bank briefcase during last week's World Championship match instead of waiting until McIntyre was the sole champion.





Drew mentions that Cody Rhodes has political power and that CM Punk will return and be welcomed with open arms. CM Punk comes out and says that McIntyre can say anything he has to say to his face. McIntyre claims that CM Punk liked to call himself a leader ten years ago, but to McIntyre he wasn't a leader when he needed one. Punk says he leads by example. Drew calls Punk a narcissist and a demon. Punk says he's not a demon, but if he needs to be, he can be Satan himself. Drew says he'll enter the Rumble and throw Punk out. Punk says he's so nice he'll throw Drew McIntyre out last.

Tommaso Ciampa defeats Finn Balor.

Jackie Redmond interviewed Becky Lynch about her loss to Nia Jax. Before their fight happened, Lynch knew that if Jax hit her as hard as he could, she could end up in the hospital with broken bones. However, Jax hit her as hard as he could, and even though she lost and had her mouth broken, she dusted herself off, got up, and reported to the Rumble.

Kofi Kingston's fight vs. Ludwig Kaiser It ended in a draw due to a double count outside the ring. After the match, Kingston attempted suicide, but Kaiser responded by sticking his thumb in Kingston's eye. Kingston fought back, but officers restrained him as the crowd chanted “Let them fight.” Kingston chased after Kaiser, who threw the steering wheel side of a leather chair into Kingston's face.

Katana Chance and Kayden Carter retain the pairs championships against Chelsea Green and Piper Niven.

Michael Cole interviewed Nia Jax in the ring. He said she shocked the world last week when she beat Lynch. Jax said it wasn't surprising. Ripley interrupted him. He said Jax likes to talk about big matches and act like he's already won the Rumble. Ripley reminded Jax that he knocked her out of the Rumble last year. Jax considered Ripley to be perhaps the most dominant champion in history, but Jax also dropped her on her ass when she returned. Jax said he would win the Rumble and pick Ripley. “See you soon, unstoppable champion.”

There was a comedy video on R-Truth. He claimed that as a newborn he told the doctor that he would one day attend Judgment Day. Over the years, there have been numerous AI and Photoshop images showing Truth alongside the group, as well as him appearing on a decades-old PPV poster.

The Miz defeats JD McDonagh (with Dominik) with the help of truth.





Seth Rollins comes to the ring, talks about his history at Wrestlemania and says he's never defended a world championship there, Jinder Mahal interrupts him and reminds everyone that he defeated Randy Orton to become WWE Champion. Rollins agrees that Mahal is being overlooked. Rollins says he doesn't like being interrupted but tells Mahal to attack him. Mahal tries to attack him from behind but Rollins dodges and tries a stomp but Mahal dodges.

Ivar defeats Otis.

In the main event, Cody Rhodes defeated Shinsuke Nakamura in a street fight after throwing him onto a table and then hitting him with Cross Rhodes.
