WWE RAW results for October 9, 2023 – Catch-Newz

WWE RAW Omaha, Nebraska

The commentators are Michael Cole and Wade Barrett.

– Tonight is WWE RAW, the red show begins with a video of the events at Fastlane last Saturday (show recap). The commentators then welcome us and present the evening’s program.

– Seth Rollins’ music starts and he enters the ring. Rollins welcomes us to Monday Night Rollins. Rollins says adrenaline is a powerful thing. Because at Fastlane, Shinsuke Nakamura pushed him to his limits. There were times in the game where he didn’t know if he was going to get up, but he did. There were times when he didn’t know if he could control Nakamura, but he did. After the game, he was elated as the arena sang his theme song. He went backstage and quickly realized his back was broken. Being World Heavyweight Champion is a great honor and it’s just the beginning! He will always be our champion defending his title. He can face anyone, anytime, anywhere. On the other hand, he wishes for a Monday evening when he doesn’t have to fight for his life. But we can celebrate and sing. Drew McIntyre’s music starts and he comes to the ring.

Rollins says McIntyre isn’t here to party. Rollins says McIntyre is here for a championship game, right? McIntyre agrees. Rollins says he wanted a time out, but that’s fine, he can get ready. McIntyre says the party goes on. We all know people will attack him behind his back, but he’s here to tell him in person that he wants a championship game. He 100% wants to win over Seth Rollins, so he wants a match at Crown Jewel. Rollins says McIntyre doesn’t want to attack him and wants to get him 100%. McIntyre agrees. Rollins says he’s not used to this technique and would like some advice from the WWE Universe on the subject. Rollins asks if the fans want the match at Crown Jewel. The crowd agrees.

Rollins says it’s even more reason to celebrate now that McIntyre has his opponent. McIntyre was in a band, so he can sing with them. McIntyre says he needs a beer for that, but in the meantime he has some things to take care of behind the scenes. McIntyre goes backstage while Rollins poses in the ring, but Damian Priest comes in and punches him in the back! Priest hits Rollins with a South of Heaven. The priest signals for Dominik Mysterio to bring him his Money in the Bank briefcase, but McIntyre hits him! McIntyre takes the briefcase from Dominik and throws it far away. Rollins takes the opportunity to throw Priest out of the ring.

– Back from break, WWE announces that Becky Lynch’s autobiography is available for pre-order.

Viking rules game

Kofi Kingston vs. Ivar

At the end of the fight, Kingston manages to throw Ivar at the bottom of the corner to send him through a table at the bottom of the ring. Valhalla comes to attack Kofi. Xavier Woods comes in, dodges a Valhalla attack and crashes into the barricade. Ivar splatters Woods. Kingston takes the opportunity to get Ivar back in the ring and attempts Trouble in Paradise, but Ivar catches him and charges him through a table. Ivar climbs to the corner and hits a moonsault on Kingston for a three count.

Winner: Ivar

– Backstage, Byron Saxton stops Shinsuke Nakamura for his comments about his loss at Fastlane. Nakamura remains unanswered. Saxton asks about his goals for the future. Nakamura goes unanswered, but Ricochet comes to attack him! Officials separate the two.

– Back, Damian Priest chokes JD McDonagh against the wall. Judgment Day comes to appease the priest. Finn Balor says McDonagh is causing too much trouble for her clan. Rhea Ripley says she was able to set up a rematch for the tag team titles next week on RAW. Priest says that’s good, but it gives him time to deal with McDonagh. Ripley tells him to focus on his briefcase and the fact that they will regain the tag team titles next week. Ripley says McDonagh has to prove himself tonight and face McIntyre. The priest wishes him luck, but part of him also wants to destroy him.

Single game

Raquel Rodriguez vs. Nia Jax

At the end of the match, Jax gives Rodriguez a Samoan Drop. Jax goes to the corner for his finisher, but Rodriguez gets up and powerbombs him! Rhea Ripley comes into the ring and throws Rodriguez out of the ring, the referee stops the fight.

Winner: Raquel Rodriguez by disqualification

– After the match, Ripley attacks Jax in the ring, but Rodriguez gets up and hits her. Ripley finally fends off Rodriguez with a headbutt. Shayna Baszler shows up and starts hitting Jax. Ripley stops Baszler and says Jax is coming back to her. Baszler isn’t happy and hits a German suplex on Ripley and a running knee.

– Backstage, Seth Rollins stops Drew McIntyre and says he has good news. Rollins says he was with Adam Pearce and the match is official for Crown Jewel, but what is McIntyre’s problem? McIntyre plays integrity and hero tonight. McIntyre says he’s doing what he said last week. He doesn’t just mind his own business. Rollins says he appreciates McIntyre helping everyone, but McIntyre doesn’t have to worry about Judgment Day. Judgment Day couldn’t take that title away from him and neither could McIntyre.

– Back, backstage, Jackie stops Shayna Baszler to figure out what’s wrong with her. Baszler says it doesn’t matter if it’s Nia, Rhea or Raquel. She’s the badass in the ring and no one can attack her from behind in the ring and get away unscathed.

Michael Cole introduces the new tag team champions Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes. Cole asks what it’s like to be champion. Jey says he’s a two-time Undisputed Tag Team Champion and his partner is Cody, that’s all good. Cole says Cody brought Jey back to WWE and they are now champions. What does this responsibility mean for his main goal of completing the story? Is Cody happy to be champion? Is he afraid of failing to win the WWE World Championship a second time? Cody says Cole is right about one thing: He brought Jey Uso back and they had this beautiful moment. He’s just happy to be tag team champion like everyone else here. Cole says he wants to get back to his question about finishing the story. Cody was about to answer, but Sami Zayn’s music starts and he walks in with Kevin Owens.

Zayn says everyone is obsessed with finishing the story, but he wants to talk about a story. The story of two boys, Jimmy and Jey Uso, who had the longest reign in history. Then there are two guys named Owens and Zayn who won the titles in the main event of WrestleMania. According to him, we need to talk about this story. He wants to congratulate Cody on the win and is happy for Jey. He’s really serious, but he has to admit there are mixed feelings. He sees Jey and Cody with the titles, but they should be the champions. Kevin Owens says he’s not happy at all to see them both with the titles, he wants the titles back. He would like to take a look at both of them and challenge them to a match tonight. The problem is that they won’t accept it because Jey can’t live with losing to them twice. Cody says Owens is wrong because they agree. And they don’t have to wait, they can do it tonight.

– Behind the scenes, Chad Gable and Alpha Academy motivate themselves for the competitor’s match. Bronson Reed comes out and says Gable will have no chance of getting anywhere close to the title as he books his ticket to face Gunther tonight. Another tough defeat for Gable awaits him.

– Ricochet comes in, but Shinsuke Nakamura attacks him from behind! Officers arrive to stop the attack.

– Back, the match for the tag team titles is confirmed.

Intercontinental Title Contender – Triple Threat Match

The title fight takes place next week on RAW.

Ricochet vs. Bronson Reed vs. Chad Gable, accompanied by Maxxine Dupri

At the end of the match, Gable performs his German Bridge Suplex on Ricochet, but Reed catches Ricochet and slams Gable. Reed follows with a back senton on both of them and hits his corner splash on Ricochet for a three count.

Winner: Bronson Reed

– Backstage, Jackie asks Becky Lynch if she is physically and mentally ready for tonight. Lynch says she’s not 100%, but when you’re a fighting champion, you’re never 100%. But what is 100% accurate is his autobiography. Tonight she defends her title against Tegan Nox, who will have the biggest chance of her career. Xia Li comes and asks what is happening to her. Tegan has her chance, but when will it be her turn? Becky says she’s not hard to find.

– Back, the wrestlers are coming.

Single game

Drew McIntyre vs. JD McDonagh, accompanied by Dominik Mysterio

At the end of the match, McIntyre performed his Future Shock DDT on McDonagh, who was looking to take advantage of a distraction by Dominik. McIntyre continues his claymore kick and counts to three.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

– Backstage, Rhea Ripley tells Damian Priest not to do anything and that she has an idea.

– Back we present a video about the return of DIY. In a video today, Wade Barrett asks DIY for comment on the events of last Monday. Tommaso Ciampa laughs and says they have bad news. Ciampa says DIY has always been bigger than herself and that fans have brought DIY to the forefront. But what awaits the duo next? Johnny Gargano says he’s been waiting for his return for a while and he can’t let Ciampa get attacked. He thinks it’s finally her time. Barrett asks if we’ll see them as a team on RAW. The Empire arrives to attack Gargano and Ciampa !

– We present a video about Tegan Nox’s career. Backstage, Jackie asks Nox how she prepared for this match. Nox says she made sure Becky was on her best behavior. She will show the whole world who she is. Natalya comes and says she is still proud of Nox. She has to show Becky what she’s made of.

– Backstage, Ricochet looks for Shinsuke Nakamura, but Adam Pearce comes to calm him down. Pearce says he got Nakamura through security to prevent another problem, but next week the two will face off in a Falls Count Anywhere.

NXT Women’s Championship – Singles Match

Tegan Nox vs Becky Lynch (c)

At the end of the match the two wrestlers go for holds or accounts, Nox rolls Becky up but Becky turns her into Dis Arm Her to make her tap.

Winner: Becky Lynch via submission

– After the fight, Becky congratulates Nox on the fight.

– Backstage, Adam Pearce chats with Candice LeRae and Indi Hartwel. Pearce says Gargano is not injured, but the doctor is still examining Ciampa. Rhea Ripley comes and asks her to leave. Ripley says she wants to get her department in order. She needs to set an example, she wants to fight Shayna Baszler next week!

– Backstage, Natalya congratulates Tegan Nox on her match. Tegan Nox says she lost again, what is she talking about? Natalya says she will take the loan. Katana Chance and Kayden Carter also come to congratulate her. Chelsea Green and Piper Niven arrive. Green congratulates her on the match, but what’s going on here? A kitten party? But Natalya must never intervene again. Natalya asks what else. Niven says that otherwise Natalya will have to face him. Natalya says she only needs to name one place. Niven decides the match for next week on RAW.

– Backstage, Drew McIntyre finds Jey Uso. McIntyre says Jey will be there to take him out when he shows his true personality. Jey says he has five minutes with McIntyre if he wants. McIntyre tells him to do something. Sami Zayn comes and calms them both down. McIntyre leaves. Jey thanks Sami for his help, but tonight it’s all about the titles.

– Back we present a video about the elegant life of Ludwig Kaiser. A+ in the ring, A+ aesthetics, A+ in everything.

WWE Undisputed Tag Team Championship – Tag Team Match

Kevin Owens and Sami Zayn vs. Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes (c)

At the end of the match, Sami tries a Helluva Kick but Cody blocks it with a Cross Rhodes to cover but Owens blocks the count! Jey and Owens then take over, Jey and Owens do superkicks, Jey manages to send Owens to the floor and covers him but he fights back for two. Jey goes for a splash out of the corner, but Owens avoids it and hits a stunner to cover him, but Cody breaks the count. Owens then tries a Swanton Bomb, but Jey blocks it with his knees. Sami tries to intervene, but Jey superkicks him and Cody hits a Cross Rhodes. Cody and Jey hit a double superkick on Owens and then did their Cody 1D on Owens for the three count.

Winners: Jey Uso and Cody Rhodes

The show ends with a celebration of the tag team champions. Sami agrees to shake hands with Cody and Jey. Kevin finally decides to return to the ring and shake both of their hands!
