WWE faces a time of great change. The investigation into Vince McMahon’s conduct has suggested that the former president should step down, at least from a business standpoint, to make way for his daughter Stephanie, who has taken over the posts on an interim basis. A move designed to reassure shareholders and other stakeholders, but which could be the first step into a truly new era for WWE.
According to PWTorch’s Wade Keller, from a WWE product management perspective, there could be a real earthquake if Stephanie stays in office. If it’s true that WWE is a massive enterprise that stretches well beyond what we see in the ring, it’s also true that it all stems from that and that Vince McMahon is still the head booker and sole creative director, which is very significant. However, things could change in the future. Speaking on PWTorchVIP, Wade Keller explained, “Paul Heyman gets along really well with both Hunter and Stephanie. Paul Heyman could have a bigger role in creativity.”
These comments are based on the idea that Stephanie could permanently assume the role of CEO of WWE, which Keller believes is possible based on the information gathered. He wrote again on PWTorchVIP.com: “Some of the things I’m hearing make me think that Stephanie could take over the leadership of the company alongside Triple H, as so many on Twitter have been speculating.”
Keller denied rumors that Triple H and Stephanie were having marital problems and that a possible split was the reason she wanted to split up. He emphasized that the two are a team. He also said he didn’t think she was taking a break because she knew the news would come from her father. The timing may not be an absolute coincidence, but it wouldn’t be Stephanie’s plan to make herself valuable. However, depending on the outcome of the Vince investigation, the board may not be keen on Vince McMahon’s return to the CEO role. In this case, Stephanie could stay in the command post and Triple H and Heyman would be her most important men.
