I think I'm a mutant. My mutant gift? The hype for X-Men '97 is growing.
I know it's not the most unique skill set, but look – I'm a Millennial and I can only resist so much. Play the opening notes of this theme song and my brain is practically rewired. If you're reading this, you probably know what that's like, which is why the first trailer for “X-Men '97” will probably hit you better than a good cup of coffee.
The trailer places a heavy emphasis on nostalgia, with footage from “Graduation Day,” the series finale of the most '90s cartoon of all time. And you know what? It whips.
The footage is short and sweet, light on plot and heavy on mood, but some fun details are hinted at. Cyclops leads the X-Men after Xavier's death, Jean Gray appears to be pregnant, and Magneto inherits everything Professor X left behind? Juicy!
The answers will come shockingly soon – X-Men '97 will premiere on Disney Plus on March 20, just under a month from now. Until then, I'll stare longingly at my phone while lying in bed, fully clothed.
You know, like in the meme.
