Xhekaj brothers with the CH: A neighbor predicted it… 18 years ago

The Montreal Canadiens made great history in Thursday’s repechage by picking Arber Xhekaj’s brother Florian in the fourth round. A neighbor of the family had apparently seen it in time.

The mother of the two brothers, Simona, shared a very special photo on Twitter on Friday morning. You can see two cushions in the colors of the Habs, on which the names Florian and Arber are printed.

For the record, it would be the work of a generous neighbor who wanted to please the two boys 18 years ago. At that time Florian was no more than 1 year old and Arber three years older.

Remember that the Xhekaj were born in Hamilton, a suburb of Toronto. Both played with the Bulldogs in the Ontario Junior Hockey League.

Arber made his CH debut last season, amassing 13 points in 51 games and excelling in physical play. He quickly became a crowd favorite at the Bell Centre.
