Xi holds talks with Sierra Leone's president

BEIJING, Feb. 28 (Xinhua) — Chinese President Xi Jinping held talks in Beijing on Wednesday with President of the Republic of Sierra Leone Julius Maada Bio, who is on a state visit to China.

Since establishing diplomatic relations more than half a century ago, China and Sierra Leone have strongly supported each other on issues affecting each other's core interests, carried out effective cooperation in the field of economic and social development, and maintained close coordination in international affairs, said a spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry.

The current visit aims to give new impetus to the comprehensive and profound development of China-Sierra Leone relations and promote new achievements in friendly cooperation between the two countries.
