Earlier this week, Xiaomi formalized the date of its Xiaomi 14 launch conference: October 26, 2023. Meanwhile, the anger surrounding this new generation of high-end smartphones has begun to heat up. The first images also reveal the design of the standard model, including a nice innovation in terms of screen.

The Xiaomi 14 performs better than the iPhone 15 Pro

After managing to keep the design of the Xiaomi 14 secret, Xiaomi revealed everything on social networks two days before the official presentation.

So we fully discover the design of the smartphone through four images. Unsurprisingly, the similarity with the Xiaomi 13 is actually there: a square photo module with three photo sensors and an LED flash, as well as flat edges.

Note that the photography part should be improved thanks to a 50 Mpx main lens of 1/1.31 inch compared to 1/1.5 on the Xiaomi 13. In addition, Leica’s new Summilux lenses allow the Xiaomi 14 to have better aperture. Increase to f/1.49 compared to f/1.6 on the previous generation.

The most important change would take place on the front of the Xiaomi 14. The Chinese brand highlights the fineness of the edges around the screen. The latter is 1.61 mm on the sides and at the top edge, while at the bottom edge it is 1.71 mm. For comparison: the iPhone 15 Pro introduced uniform 1.75 mm bezels around the screen.

One final piece of information was shared by Xiaomi: the presence of a 6.36-inch OLED panel with a refresh rate of 120 Hz. It is quite simply identical to that of the Xiaomi 13.

In addition to the design and the photography part, the Xiaomi 14 wants to introduce a great new feature in terms of performance: the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip from Qualcomm.
