Xiaomi has no time to wait. As soon as the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 was announced, the brand showed off the very first smartphone equipped with this latest high-end chip. However, the telephone in question still had to have a corresponding announcement. It’s done: the Xiaomi 14 has been made official in China, as it should be.

Design and screen of the Xiaomi 14

On the agenda is a powerful high-end smartphone that also relies on its photography capabilities thanks to the expertise of specialist Leica… and a HUGE photo module on the back that houses three cameras. This is the main element that works on the Xiaomi 14.

The panel is said to be immersive, particularly with black borders around the display area, reduced to 1.71mm on the chin and 1.61mm on the top and sides.

For grip comfort, note that the Xiaomi 14 weighs 193 grams and is 8.2mm thick.

As we said, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is one of the main selling points of the Xiaomi 14. That was to be expected, the brand insists that this is the first smartphone to benefit from it. Additionally, the manufacturer promises to have put a lot of work into controlling the heating of the device so that your hands don’t sweat, no matter what strenuous task you subject it to.

For photography, the Xiaomi 14 proudly features a 50MP main photo sensor with an f/1.6 aperture lens and a 23mm focal length. The sensor in question is 1/1.31 inches in size and benefits from pixel binning technology to produce brighter 12.5MPx photos.

The phone also features 50 MPX (f/2.2) 14mm ultra-wind angle for a 115 degree field of view. On the other hand, the Xiaomi 14 also has a telephoto lens x3.2 (equivalent to 75 mm) with an output of f/2.0 and a definition of capture of 32 Mpx benefiting from a stabilization optical system (OIS).

The brand also mentions a lossless x2 magnification level (46mm equivalent), but this appears to be managed software. Finally, the possibility of filming in 8K is also mentioned.
