Xiaomi 14 Pro: First teardown video shows new camera with continuous aperture and other new hardware – notebookcheck.biz

It has been a few days since Xiaomi unveiled its first Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 equipped Snapdragon 8 Gen 3. Although the two models share most components, Xiaomi has chosen to keep certain hardware elements more expensive for the Pro. One of these differences is the continuous aperture of the main camera, which is exclusive to the Xiaomi 14 Pro.

WekiHome demonstrated how this hardware works in one of its latest teardown videos, which can be seen at around 2:50 in the video embedded below. As always, to gain access to the internal hardware, you must first remove the rear glass panel of the Xiaomi 14 Pro. Once this is removed, WekiHome also highlights the device’s various chips, including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3, the Xiaomi 14 Pro is equipped with a memory card, UFS 4.0 flash storage and RAM, and only components dedicated to security and utilization are dedicated to management.

Apparently the included 4,880 mAh battery can be easily removed thanks to the large pull tabs. Additionally, the YouTuber confirms that the new TCL C8 display delivers 2,950 nits in HDR mode, although this doesn’t necessarily reflect the maximum brightness in the real world. Xiaomi has equipped the Xiaomi 14 Pro with a large cooling solution that visually appears larger than the equivalent in the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, although official estimates claim the opposite. The Xiaomi 14 and Xiaomi 14 Pro remain exclusively available in China for the time being. Both devices are expected to launch simultaneously worldwide in early 2024.
