Already certified in South Korea, the Xiaomi Smart Band 8 has been the subject of a publication in which we can discover its design, with a fastening system very different from previous versions.

While Xiaomi announced the marketing of its new connected watch, the Xiaomi Watch S1 Pro, in France last Sunday, the Chinese manufacturer is already working on its next connected bracelet. As noted on the GSM Arena website, the future Xiaomi Smart Band 8 has already been certified in South Korea.
The website specializing in mobile technologies has indeed spotted a certification for a new connected wristband on the website of the NRRA, the Korean agency in charge of telecom regulation. Which allows to discover certain characteristics of the activity tracker, but also several photos that make it possible to discover a design partly inspired by the Pixel Watch.
Thus, on the back of the sensor we can discover a position for the heart rate monitor with a light-emitting LED and a sensor that allows to analyze the heart rate and possibly the blood oxygen saturation rate. On the back, the photos show two small pins that are supposed to allow the bracelet to be charged.
A wristband more integrated with the sensor
However, the main novelty would come from the strap attachment system. The Xiaomi Smart Band 8 would have two different bands, like a connected watch, hanging on each side of the sensor. A design change since Xiaomi’s previous bracelets only offered to integrate the sensor in a slot provided in the bracelet.
The suspension system in particular is reminiscent of what we already know from the Google Pixel Watch or the Apple Watch. The same applies to the Velcro, which is integrated into one of the stamps on the bracelet to firmly attach the tracker to the wrist.
It is not yet known when Xiaomi intends to officially launch its new Smart Band 8. As a reminder, the Xiaomi Smart Band 7 was officially announced in China in May 2022 before being marketed in France in June last year. Meanwhile, Xiaomi has also released a more advanced model with GPS tracking, the Smart Band 7 Pro, available since this fall.
