The Central American president arrived here on Thursday evening and, according to the agenda, will assume the pro tempore presidency of this political coordination body on Friday.
Honduran Vice-Chancellor Eduardo Torres, who accompanied the head of state to this summit along with other government officials, emphasized in statements to the prisoner the responsibility that the assumption of the pro tempore presidency of Celac entails for Honduras.
Torres announced that there will be an interim meeting with the European Union (EU) as part of tomorrow's forum, as Honduras promotes Latin America and the Caribbean relations with the EU, in addition to other important meetings with leaders of the bloc.
Celac consists of 33 countries and was founded in December 2011 with the aim of promoting unity and political, economic, social and cultural integration among member states.
