Yankees pitcher Anthony Misiewicz was hit in the head by a line drive in a frightening scene Friday night.
In the bottom of the sixth inning against the Pirates, Misiewicz threw a strike over the middle of the plate to Ji Hwan Bae.
The Pittsburgh player launched the ball away from his racket at a whopping 100.6 miles per hour and hit Misiewicz in the head, immediately sending him to the ground and seemingly causing him to bleed.
After the game ended, in which Pittsburgh tied, Misiewicz received quick medical attention on the field.

He was alert and held what appeared to be an ice pack to his head as he left the field
He eventually got up under his own power before being carted off the field.
The Yankees said the left-hander was “alert and oriented” afterward.
“He was evaluated by Pittsburgh team physicians and transported to Allegheny General Hospital where he will undergo further testing,” the team said said.
The Pittsburgh crowd applauded him as he left the field.
The 28-year-old Misiewicz was claimed off waivers by the Yankees in July.
