Yellow in Switzerland, vaccine manager ‘kidnapped by No Vax’ Europe

Yellow in Switzerland, where the head of the national vaccination commission, Christoph Berger, was kidnapped for a few hours on March 31 by a person defined by the Swiss police as a militant fanatic. A story that had its epilogue a few days ago when agents in Wallisellen, in the canton of Zurich, tried to arrest the alleged perpetrator of the kidnapping, a 38yearold German businessman, whose identity has not been revealed. He was found in the shootout with the agents killed after shooting and killing a woman, his partner. Weapons and ammunition were found in the apartment.
Today, reports the Swiss agency Ats, a 34yearold man who is suspected to be an accomplice in the kidnapping was arrested.

But the whole story does not have very clear outlines. Swiss police said the kidnapper (assuming he was alone) was politically motivated and labeled him a NoVax fanatic, conspiracy theorist, Covid denier and flat earth advocate.

But Berger, 59, who only emerged as the kidnapping victim in the last few hours, said his kidnapper just wanted money: “My kidnapper, who I didn’t know, had me in his power for a good hour Amount of money requested, said the head of the Swiss antiCovid vaccination campaign of the Neue Zürcher Zeitung.

According to Berger, the kidnapper “never referred to my role as chairman of the vaccination committee.” When the kidnapper was assured that he would do everything possible to meet his demands, Berger was released and he immediately went to the cantonal police, he says.
