Sophie Nélisse, who plays the role of Shauna as a teenager, thus finds herself on the same list as Melanie Lynskey, who plays the same role but as an adult. Tawny Cypress and Juliette Lewis, who lend their adult features to the characters of Taissa and Natalie, are the other two actresses hoping for an Emmy nomination.
Christina Ricci, who was nominated for Best Supporting Actress last year for her role as the adult version of Misty, will once again attempt to secure her spot on the shortlist for her role in Yellowjackets season two — not to mention his candidacy also submitted for his role as Marilyn Thornhill in Netflix’s Wednesday series.
A hit with both audiences and critics, Yellowjackets has garnered record ratings for Showtime and its Actors and Craftsmen earned seven Emmy nominations in 2022. Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, the series tells the story of a team of young soccer players who survive a plane crash, oscillating between the days following the tragedy and 25 years later when the protagonists have come of age.
