Luke Grimes didn’t stray far from the looks of his Yellowstone character, Kayce Dutton, when he appeared on the Today Show in New York City on Thursday.
The 38-year-old actor rocked a rugged look with a charcoal corduroy shirt and weathered brown cowboy boots.
Grimes was there to chat about his hit Paramount Network series Yellowstone, in which he plays the youngest son of Kevin Costner’s patriarch John Dutton III.
He dressed his demure outfit with a simple white tee and stayed casual with a pair of dark jeans.

Luke grinned broadly as he walked into the studio with shaggy hair slicked back and a thick beard.
He seemed to be reading thematically, as he was holding a cookbook with recipes for the Big Green Egg Grill as he entered the building.
During his appearance on the Today Show, Luke admitted he wasn’t among the many people keeping up with all the drama at Yellowstone.
Co-host Craig Melvin accidentally called the actor by his character’s name when asking if he would keep up with the show as its popularity skyrocketed.

Luke admitted he didn’t watch the show, but he clarified that it “wasn’t because I didn’t want to or because I’m too cool to watch the show.”
He explained that he’s trying to keep his distance for fear that watching “might interfere with my work as we’re still doing it”.
When Craig asked for clarification, Luke explained that he doesn’t enjoy seeing himself on screen and tends to get in his “head” or “judge” his performance, so he prefers to keep his distance .
However, he added that he plans to catch up on the entire show when it’s done.
“I’ll do that later,” he added.

‘She came up [to Montana] with me for work a year and I kinda fell in love with her,” he shared, adding that it seemed more appealing than her previous hometown of Texas.
Grimes, who is also a musician, said it was “amazing” when the show used his latest single in its mid-season finale, though Melvin joked he hadn’t actually seen it on the show.
The single, a country love song inspired by his wife, got a thumbs up from her.
“She likes it,” Luke said shyly, before laughing.
