The motivator and communicator Yizette Cifredo was confirmed as the new director this morning Miss Universe Puerto Rico (MUPR). During a press conference in the lobby of Wapa television -official channel of the local event- The social entrepreneur was also grateful and excited about this new opportunity.
Channel 4 Vice President Jorge Hidalgo said it was time to look to the future and all its possibilities.
“(We have) a single goal, to reclaim the place Puerto Rico holds in the universe, to take it to another level, primed and engaged. We had four exceptional queens, all positioned in the top 10 in the world,” he said.
Immediately thereafter, the Board announced the new team in charge of the organization, consisting of Cifredo, Sonya Valentin and Stephanie Soto.
In this way, Cifredo becomes a substitute for Denise Chinon, who left the MUPR organization on May 21, 2021 to pursue other personal projects. The Miss Universe 2001 decision came less than a week before Soto’s participation in Miss Universe 2021.
“When we talk about beauty pageants, we think of a candidate representing Puerto Rico, and that’s part of it. It is a group of young people who bet on the platform to accelerate their development and get into areas of interest such as entertainment, communication, journalism, entrepreneurship and many others. Our commitment is to everyone, and no doubt to the chosen individual, and to Puerto Rico to continue to shine,” the NotiCentro at dawn host said in a written statement.
Likewise, during the press conference, Cifredo took the opportunity to express his gratitude for the trust that was just placed in his hands to lead the local MUPR franchise.
“‘Thank you’ is seven letters that fall short. Sometimes you underestimate yourself and I never thought I would take on a role like the one I’m given today. I fell in love with the possibility. Thanks to Wapa Television for believing in me more than me. I applaud this responsibility you have for Puerto Rico. I know what that means, we have a lot of faith in what’s happening in the competition and what it means to see Puerto Rico shine. I take it with humility and commitment.” assured.
The new director of the MUPR was Miss Puerto Rico Petite and Miss Global Petite in 2000. In fact, on December 30, 2020, the wife of the singer and presenter Victor Santiagotake time to think about beauty pageants on social networks.
