She continued, “And, yes, in America, Grandma has a bit of an old-people connotation to me, I think. But you know, in Holland the granny thing is fresh, it’s great. I’m 58, I’m like, “Thank God we have this baby now, she’s our greatest blessing.” And I’m so happy every day when I can see her. It’s incredible.’
Yolanda, the mother of Gigi, 27, Bella, 26, and Anwar Hadid, 23, credited her eldest child with being “such a great mom herself” to the toddler.
“I like to take her horseback riding or to do things on the farm and then I’ll take her back to her mom and, you know, it’s like, ‘Byeeee, I’m going to see my boyfriend today and we’re going to ride rides now'” , she said. “And it’s great that it’s not your full-time job, but it’s a love. I feel like I grew a whole different heart.”
Yolanda opened the new dimensions of her life when she became a grandparent.
“I thought my three kids had captured my whole heart,” she said. “I never thought I could love something so big and now I have Khai and it’s just this heart growing by his side that’s so beautifully strong and passionate. It’s just amazing.”
