"’Yoshi’ pa’ los friends": the funny memes after Yotún’s curious greeting to Sun

Oliver Sonne is the current topic in the Peruvian team. The 22-year-old full-back arrived in our country last Saturday, October 7, and immediately caught the attention of the public and sports media. Hours later, those invited to train at Videna gave him a warm welcome, including Yoshimar Yotún, whose greeting in “Spanglish” went viral on social media. It didn’t take long for fans to continue the joke by viralizing humorous memes about the two meeting as well as the first hours of the Peruvian-Danish stay in Lima.

In the images, Internet users recalled that the midfielder had already hinted that he would use his “verb to be” to overcome the language barrier and be able to communicate with his new partner. “’Yoshi’ for the friends,” was the sentence that caused laughter at the Bicolor rally.

Another aspect that fans described was the possible cultural shocks that Sun will experience as he is not familiar with local customs. Finally, for comparison, they also remembered the arrival of Gianluca Lapadula a few years ago.
