A lucky investor with deep means can buy the Florida land where famous gangster Al Capone died, provided he has about $32 million Canadian.
A report from trade magazine Mansion Global reports the sale of 93 Palm Avenue, a roughly 30,000 square foot (2,800 square meter) property, for the modest sum of $23.9 million.
The country is located on Palm Island, an artificial island full of opulent villas that is part of Miami.
In fact, the buyer who wants to grab a piece of history will actually only get a lawn with some palm trees.
In 1928, Al Capone bought a huge colonial-style mansion with a huge, 18-meter-long swimming pool for $40,000, the equivalent of about $850,000 today. The most famous American gangster died there of a heart attack about twenty years later, in 1947, at the age of 48.
Real estate agent Dina Goldentayer emphasized the potential of the land where the buyer will have the luxury of building the villa of their dreams.
“The buyer will be in good company, surrounded by homes priced at $50 million and up,” she noted, according to comments from Mansion Global.
