More than 10 years after the announcement, a New Zealand company is launching a luxury caravan starting at US$360,000 ($268,500).
The price can of course increase with options and requires a deposit of US$6,300 (CA$8,520) according to the Robb Report.
The caravan, a Romotow T8 by W2, is unique, featuring a small cab that slides out like a USB stick when the vehicle is stationary, and a frame that transforms into a sheltered patio.
The modern and luxurious living space is actually a mini house, with a kitchenette and dining room, bathroom and separate toilet, and a bedroom that can be booked with two single beds or a double bed. It is also possible to add a pull-out double bed in the living room.
Other options are available such as B. a wall-mounted TV, an outdoor projector system and a multi-zone sound system.
The hydraulic rotation system, as well as the various options of the caravan, are powered by a lithium battery, accompanied by roof-mounted solar panels.
Built by ACM Motorhomes, the 30.5-foot trailer has stayed true to the original images, despite the criticism the project has received throughout the process.
The first computer images were actually proposed in 2012, the physical prototype was released in 2018 and finally the caravan was born in 2023.
